John Chapter 3 Verse 16
"For God so loved the World that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16 is the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a nutshell. This verse tells you what you need to do to get started as a Christian. Being saved by the blood of Jesus does not mean you have done something so great and holy on this Earth that God forgives you of your sins. You will never do any works by the flesh in this life that will get you salvation. You can only receive salvation by believing in Jesus, for what he did at the Cross on Calvary, believing he arose from the dead on the third day. Jesus was not killed or executed at the Cross. He was sacrificed for our sins.

We are all sinners
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"
Romans 3:23

We are all sinners. Period. Their is not one that has not sinned on this earth, other than Jesus. He was perfect. Don't believe all the junk you here about some Da' Vinci code. Those are just attempts by satan and his henchmen to pollute the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He (lucifer) has tried polluting and falsifying the Cross since the beginning of time, so nothing is different today.

You don't believe in evil spirits? Well, if you believe in God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, you have got to believe in satan and evil forces thereof, the lord of this evil world. Here is a post from CNN.com that gives a good explanation of spiritual forces at work in this world. The post was in response to whether or not demons were actually being cast out of people at a Church in Oklahoma.

"We live in a self serving materialistic and self-serving age. To question whether spiritual forces are at work in the world today shows that the wool is already pulled over your eyes. We are entrenched in a society that continually wants to push God and the Bible, Heaven, Hell into the grey. We would rather listen to i-pods than listen to the voice of the living God. We would rather be comfortable in this life of 80 or 90 years than think about living forever. We would rather spend years being educated so that we may theorize we came from apes and ooze than spend five minutes reading the book of the ages that tells us we were made by a creator, we sinned against Him, we began to die, but He has made a way through His blood at Calvary so we may know Him truly. How great is our arrogance that we believe that our failing eyes see what is really real. Jesus said, you cannot see the wind, but you know it is real because you feel it's effects. Is it such an outdated idea that we believe in God and pause from our endless toil to give some audience to His Word? Read the Bible and listen for Him to speak." Posted by Elijah 14607 NY

"As it is written. There is none righteous, no, not one"
Romans 3:10

Even if by some great miracle you have not sinned (which is impossible, but let's just pretend), you are still cursed from the fall of man (Adam and Eve).

Assurance
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved".
Romans 10:9

We have hope. We have the assurance, through the Cross, that one day we will live eternally with Jesus. It is great and wonderful to know that even the greatest sinner can be saved by Jesus.

Example of how to pray for Salvation through Jesus Christ
Confessing to God - " I am sinner, and believing that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification. I do now receive and confess Him as my personal Saviour"
